Letter from the Division Chair

CaraBeth Johnson, Business Division ChairWhy do some businesses succeed while others fail?  What are the crucial skills needed to make a business profitable in today’s global marketplace?  Searching for the answers to these questions?  We have the answer – NOC Business Division!

Welcome to the NOC Business Division.  Here you will find a community of students, faculty, staff, alumni and business partners dedicated to becoming the pre-eminent learning cantered community college business program in Oklahoma.  Our business graduates play roles in just about every industry performing tasks such as managing operations, hiring and training employees, inventory management, managing computer systems and overseeing the day-to-day operations of an office.  From providing office support, to learning to run your own business, to the most current accounting techniques, NOC’s business programs prepare you for an exciting career in this diverse global marketplace.

Here at NOC we offer various types of degree options including:

  • 5 Associate of Science degrees that are designed for students who intend to transfer to a university to complete a bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • 3 Associate of Applied Science degrees for the career-minded individual who is focused on immediate employment.
  • 5 Cooperative Agreement programs provide a way for area technology students to combine their technical training with business theory to culminate in an Associate of Applied Science degree.

So whether you wish to pursue a traditional program, night classes, real-time ITV, online or fast-track offerings, we have the right program to fit your needs.  No matter what business program or delivery method you choose, all are designed to prepare students to become productive members of the business community.

But learning here at NOC involves much more than taking courses. Our Kappa Beta Delta Honor Society is making a real difference by working with local charities and serving the community.  Our Governor’s Cup Business Plan Competition team placed in the top 6 of all teams in Oklahoma for the Small Business division.  Our Advisory Board works with the division to provide internships and job shadowing opportunities for students.  And our study abroad programs allow students to experience business in other cultures around the world.

In other words, here at the Business Division of NOC we are committed to providing high quality, accessible, and affordable educational opportunities and services to allow our students to develop to the full extent of their abilities, to succeed in a competitive global environment, and to be effective life-long learners.

So, if you are interested in an education that prepares you for a lifetime of business leadership in a global marketplace, then NOC Business is the place for you.
