Cowley College led Northern in shots and corner kicks, but in the end the Mavericks were able to find the net and the Tigers were not. Roberto Molina had nine saves for the Mavs. Cowley came out and played very well in the beginning of the game, and just missed on several chances. Northern was able to get more of the ball later in the first half, but missed on a few chances in front of goal. The Mavs finally got on the scoreboard with just ten minutes left in the game. Brad Bennions dribbled down the wing and crossed to Felipe Zanolli, who blasted the ball into the net. Northern was able to hold on until the final whistle picking up the win.
Former Mav Joins Jamaica U23 Olympic Qualifying Team
2015 graduate Rickardo Oldham has been called up to the Jamaica U23 national team in their preparations for the 2016 Olympic games. Oldham played two years for the Mavs being selected team MVP both seasons and was conference and region player of the year his sophomore year. He has moved on to play for NCAA Division 1 New Jersey Institute of Technology.
