Northern Wins in Overtime

Northern got back on track with a 3-2 overtime win over Murray State College.  Northern looked like they were going to cruise to an easy win scoring two goals in the first five minutes.  Irvin Ponce scored the first goal just two minutes into the game after Gustavo Requeijo headed the ball to him.  Ponce scored the second goal off Brad Bennions' corner kick.  Murray State closed the gap in the eighth minute off a free kick.  Murray State forced overtime with a late goal off another free kick in the eighty-second minute.  Northern ended the game quickly in the first overtime when Irvin Ponce collected the hat trick after taking a long throw from John Clerveau.

Former Mav Joins Jamaica U23 Olympic Qualifying Team

2015 graduate Rickardo Oldham has been called up to the Jamaica U23 national team in their preparations for the 2016 Olympic games.  Oldham played two years for the Mavs being selected team MVP both seasons and was conference and region player of the year his sophomore year.  He has moved on to play for NCAA Division 1 New Jersey Institute of Technology.
