Native American Youth Leadership Day July 31

     “Motivation on the Rezervation,” the second annual Native American Youth Leadership Day, is set for Tuesday, July 31 on the Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa campus in the Renfro Center from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.
     NOC Native American counselor Gina Conneywerdy and educational youth directors of the seven North Central Oklahoma tribes have planned an exciting day of activities, speakers and workshops for Native American students entering grades seven through twelve. Tribes involved include the Osage Nation, Pawnee Nation, Otoe-Missouria Tribe, Kaw Nation, Tonkawa Tribe, Ponca Tribe and Iowa Tribe.
     Keynote speaker is humorist and motivational speaker Chance Rush, who will discuss Bullying and Conflict Resolution, Communications and Presentation and Culture Outlook and Issues throughout the day.
     Karen Howe, Kaw Nation Education Director, and NOC staff will present a College Prep workshop for students in grades 10-12, while Lindsey Miner and Samantha Ephgrave from Noble County OSU Extension Service will host the workshop “Success: There’s an app for that!” for students in grades 7-9.
     The evening will end with games and a Hip Hop Showcase.
