“Starting my college career out at NOC Tonkawa was one of the best decisions I have made. During these two years I have learned what it means to be held accountable, what it means to be responsible, and what it takes to be a leader. Being a part of the softball team I was able to build friendships that will last a lifetime while also learning how to be fully committed to my team and doing whatever it takes to make our team better as a whole. My coaches and teachers helped me reach my goals and encouraged and supported me throughout my entire athletic and academic career. I'm thankful that my coaches pushed me to become a better player mentally and physically. They have helped shape me into who I am today and I am very thankful for the impact they have had on my life. I feel they have prepared me as best they could for the next chapter of my life at a university. NOC will always hold a special place in my heart. Happy I got to be a Lady Mav!”  -McKenzie Martin

“Going to NOC for my first two years of college was the perfect transition from high school. During these two years I learned responsibility, accountability, and good work ethic alongside many other things. The softball program at NOC built me up to be a better player by enhancing my skills. The coaches pushed us and did everything they could to make us better every day for the upcoming season. The professors and staff at NOC are always willing to help and make sure student athletes stay on track. I feel that they have prepared me academically for my next step at a university. Along with preparing me for my next steps academically and making me a better softball player NOC brought me friendships that will last a lifetime. I'm so glad I started my first steps of college at NOC as a Lady Mav!” –Faith Ashford

“Being a student athlete at NOC taught me responsibility, time management and accountability among many other things. The softball program at NOC made me a better player in the two years that I spent in Tonkawa. It created an avenue for me to continue my career playing ball while also making friendships that will last a lifetime. Academically, I feel that NOC has equipped me with the knowledge to continue my education at a university. Coaches, administrators and professors are always willing to take the extra step to help you reach your goals without any hesitation. I'm glad that I chose Northern and am thankful for all of the friendships, memories and knowledge that I have gained there!” –Tori Smith
